First you have to get a hold on your emotions. This is a tough time. Why would your doctor tell you that you need to lose weight if you have breast cancer? Shouldn't the breast cancer be the first concern?
What I did to lose was to have what I wanted but I put it on a smaller plate (seriously) and only allowed myself to eat on serving which is smaller. This way I don't feel deprived or hungry and it even allows for a small piece of cake if I would like. Drink water, water, water. I try to drink 64 oz a day.
You will be in my prayers. Breast cancer is in my family so I am no stranger.
God Bless!

I don't think there is ever a fast way to lose weight. Did your doctor recommend a diet and work out plan for you? If not I would definately start slowly with excercise - maybe some light cardio like walking 30 - 45 minutes a day and then increaseing intensity and incline over weeks. This will help burn calories if you are not a very active person. As for diet, begin monitoring how many calories you are consuming on a daily basis. You should be on a 1500-2000 calorie diet. As you begin eating healthier, and you will simply by the fact that 1500 calories does not give you a lot of choices, you can begin cutting back from 2000.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

First off, you don't hate your body. I hear this crap all the time. You LOVE your body and that is why you continue to do all the things that keep it alive and healthy.
What you hate, what you regret and agonize over are the choices you have made that have given you a body that you are not comfortable in.
This is going to take serious discipline and dedication. Are you prepared for that? You may have never developed any self-discipline in your entire life and if so, you're going to have to learn fast. There is no quick and easy way to do this. There is no magic diet and there are no short-cuts, understand?
Good, now lets get started. First off, cut ALL, I mean ALL artificial sugars and sweeteners from your diet. These are absolutely a scourge to our society are ought to be banned outright, but I digress. you should also cut your intake of fasts of all kinds to below 30g per day if possible.
Next, start eating more fruits and vegetables than you can stand. Your diet should be primarily fruits, vegetables, and lean protiens. Add carbs as filler if you feel that you can't control food cravings initially.
Then start excercising in any way that you can. Do not make the excuse that there is no time in the day. Take a walk during your lunch break, or go for an ealy morning jog. Your goal is to elevate your heart-rate for about twenty to thirty minutes so that your body will shift from burning pure sugars and stored ATP, to the highly efficient, fat-burning, aerobic ATP production process. You will feel when this starts happening; it is commonly reffered to as th "second wind".
Control your actions and demand a high degree of discipline from yourself and you will be succesful.

Firstly did the 2nd and 3rd opion confirm Breast cancer? If so it sounds irresponsible of these MDs to tell you to lose wieght ASAP.
caching4us was right about the Breast cancer should take precedence over any wieght-loss. Although cancer treatments have gotten better, major side effect to most chemotherapy is GI disturbances ie nausea, vomiting, anorexia etc.
No matter what the condition you can never go wrong with increasing water intake and balancing you diet

Whew! Some of these answers!
Please refer to my other answers here on Yahoo for real scientific advice (easy to understand) for losing weight.
1. Increase activity by a safe amount. If you are not a runner, can you see how this would be possibly unsafe to "all of a sudden" start with running? Start with moderately fast walks around school, work or home-- wherever you feel safe.
2. Eat slightly less, particularly sugar. DO NOT starve yourself. Read my other answers for reasons why.
AND, losing 50 pounds FAST is NOT the way to go. Chances are you didn't gain it fast, so take the time, read up, and honor your body by respecting it with better choices. Nobody is perfect.
Health to You... :)

the best way to lose weight is through diet and exercise. it takes time though. i've lost 10 pounds now by just changing my eating habits and doing about an hour of walking everyday. a few years ago i lost 20 lbs by dancing (just to music on the radio and some swing). everyone's body is different though, so what worked for me may not work for you.
there are some good exercise videos out there like tae bo/kickboxing, pilates, among others. there is also sweating to the oldies, which sounds strange, but it gets you moving.
don't do diet pills they are just gimmicks and can cause more problems than just some extra weight. don't hate yourself....people gain weight for lots of reasons, including stress. just enjoy every day to the fullest and try to be healthy in your choices.
good luck!

Running sure does help a lot. However, you have to run every single day, or every other day, and not like once a week. Also, I heard that going to the bathroom more often helps people loose weight.

take your normal portions on your plate. divide them in half. eat one, throw the other in the trash. its really important to actually throw it out yourself. you'll feel like you're throwing out your extra weight. then if you keep doing it, you'll be the size you want to be by continually making your portions smaller... the portions nowadays are gigantic anyway.... did you know a "serving" of chicken is right around TWO wings? thats it! i had to get my diet into shape... it'll work, just don't fold even when ppl say you are wasting food... just think of how much fat is clinging to your belly... you don't need it.
