Is there only MINI coopers or are there regular coopers too?

Actually the Mini Cooper was originally a product of a British auto manufacturer called Austin, and there were full sized Austins. A few years ago BMW bought Austin and the new Mini Cooper is now essentially a BMW--hence the one comment you got from the fellow who joked "Yes, it's called a BMW."
