To all who say that believing is a matter of faith: faith itself is a matter of choice.

Not really. I think most people grow up believing in 'a' god whether it be the conventional guy with the long hair and beard type god, or just some higher power that we can't begin to describe (let alone imagine). Various concepts of 'god' are thrown at us from the time we're little kids; each definition influencing our personal concept of 'god'. For example, your own question gives god a capital 'g' which you have taken from the Christian concept of god (old guy, white beard variety) But consider this: We're born not knowing of god. Left to ourselves, there is only life, seasons, aging, a need to procreate and death. God only comes into the picture from other people's beliefs. So what I'm saying is, most people just do as they're told and believe in god. Think about it. Give yourself a choice.

Faith,Beliefs are many and are a matter of choice but when it all comes down to it,meaning your last and final day on this earth think about this,..if you believed you gain eternal life but if you didn't you inherit total damnation...hmmm well since I'm not a bad guy anyway and try my best to help someone when I can I figure I might as well not gamble with my soul and believe that there is a supreme being in the heavens that watches over me.

i love your watermark analogy, i'd prefer to extrapolate on that. First, you're proper, there is in reality faith as yet for info. yet, as all of us understand, there is an undesirable lot of it. image it masking the earth, like a community, or an internet of idea. Now carry it as a lot because the mild, you'll see the watermark. i quite believe this to be the incontrovertible info of God's power. I see, although, that I actually have not provided what you've requested. this isn't empirical info that "one certain entity" has "made the universe, or created existence". that's actually no longer some thing that "can not be defined by ability of another phenomenon". I absolutely renowned that this can no longer be '"considered as a rational and agreeable clarification by ability of the overall public of wise human beings" LOL! So, I accept as true with you...there isn't any longer empirical info...yet! thanks loose wondering American!

What's the point of it all if you don't have faith? Hold a newborn child that is yours and tell me there is no God.

DO WE CHOOSE WHEN OPTIONS AREN'T PRESENTED?

any rhetorical ploy doesn't have the force of Pascal's Wager.
The option of not believing is VERY weak.
