It's because America loves the British remake shows.
I have to admit it is funny, especially compared to most American shows. But it's not as funny as it's parent show "The Office" on BBC. That's funny!

It's one of the best comedy show's in years, but that's because they did a great job taking the British version of the show and re-making it for american TV.
Steve Carell is awesome, so that helps too :)

Cause I don't really like reality TV shows, I like FAKE reality TV shows. And this one is pretty damn funny. I can't believe how annoying Michael Scott is, and how hilarious of a character Dwight is (Dwight bobblehead, anyone?). There is something to like about almost all of the characters. Also, I can't think of a cuter TV couple than Jim and Pam.

it can be painfully funny to watch sometimes because we can identify with knowing characters like David Brent and his sidekick Gareth! Its funny how sometimes Gareth refers to his being in the Territorial army like a badge of courage, and David Brent... he is a total idiot.
