I'm an iranian and I seriously hope for my team to try their best in this game. I'm praying every night for this to happen. Since Ali Daie went out I think it's even better for Iran cause he doesn't do too much good in the team. Please don't be hating. What do u guys think?/

You are praying, so are millions of Portuguese.

But sticking to footballing ability, you've got to back Portugal. Iran needed a point at least against Mexico but now they must go for broke and that's where Portugal will hit them.

Luis Figo said, 'If we win the next game against an opponent that lost it's first, we are through and they are out'.
Looks very ominous indeed.

I believe Iran had a better chance at beating Mexico which is the fourth highest ranked team in the world cup rather than Portugal, only due to the fact that Iran matches up evenly with the Mexican talent in terms of style. Portugal on the other is much faster than Mexico and poses alot of problems for all the teams in the world cup (7th in the world) I am also Iranian, and I truly hope Iran beats Portugal which has a tendency to show bad performances in the world cup. Even the odds makers where giving Iran a 1/20 chance against Mexico and a 1/50 chance against Portugal. If it wasn't for the stupid decision of the Iranian coach in the second half, Iran would have beaten Mexico, and of course due to that bad return ball by our goal tender. But hey, Iran isn't the only team to make that type of mistake this year in the world cup. If Iran's superstars play as a cohesive unit and full on attack, they will beat Portugal for sure. I hope they have learned from their mistake and haven't lost their spirit. There is no stopping the Iranian front line. Portugal is fast, but not accurate. Iran is both fast and accurate. Only advantage Portugal has is that it has more world cup experience, and the players have more experience playing in the euro league which as you know just about all the stars of the world cup play in. that's going to be effective to ascertain Iran play Portugal one better time. Iran is a crew lower than progression and are a competent crew between the most appropriate in Asia if no longer the most appropriate, they have some significant gamers in the authentic leagues in Europe that are reliable. I desire Iran reliable success no matter if i will bypass for Mexico. i'd quite prefer to ascertain Mexico vs Portugal although.

And why not? Iran played well against Mexico but got sloppy in the last minutes. Maybe if Iran had made good changes, they would've tied it. All in all, it's nice to see people like you who stick it out and support your country in the good times and the bad times. (something many of us don't do with the US and if we lose, all these people say that we suck). You have passion, something we Americans are lacking in soccer. I must admit that after the 94 World Cup, I supported the USA (I really mean it!) and didn't care if people laughed at me. Good vibes for Iran as I'll be really pleased to see your team pull a surprise!!

Dear Bald Noob ,
Nowadays football is hard to predict.Who could predict Cameroon's win against Argentina in the opening match of 1990 and the same story for Senegal win against France in 2002 ??
When the most Delicious foods are expired we put them away.Daei is expired now. However he did his best for Iran during the past years. So even if he was O.K ,Branko should send him on bench.I pray for our team too.
If we play like the 2nd half of Mexico match and believe ourselves we can even win Portugal.Who Knows?
Best Regards..Iranian Bobby

Sorry, but I seriously doubt it, at least not with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Figo at the helm. But I would like to point out that Iran did a great job making it to the World Cup
