How would you handle this? a friend who told you a big stupid lie to you...mind you it wasn't a lie to make them selves look good (like they got a promotion or something when they didn't) but rather it was a deliberate lie to against you or to hurt you....I think it indicates that this person had an "issue" with me and they were not mature enough to approach me so they did this. Because of this I feel as though I can never trust this person. I question their sincerity most of the time with certain things. How would this affect your friendship? My thing is I cant stand fakeness...don't smile in my face one day and then be lying to me the next...I don't want fake people in my corner...what would you do?

When someone lies to you, its not about you, its about them. Unfortunately like all relationships you wade through a whole heap of garbage before you turn up some gems.

You can choose to be proactive and speak to the person letting them know how hurt you were by what you feel was a deliberate action taken in malice with the intent to hurt you. You can ask for an apology and communicate how you want to be treated from that point on. It is then up to the individual to show whether or not they value the friendship by first apologizing and then respecting the boundaries that you have put forward in the relationship. If not then you must determine if this person is worth your pecision time, energy and focus.

It very well maybe that the friendship has run its course. Some friendships are only for a season and people can and do sometimes out grow each other. When that happens just take the good you get from it, the lessons and leave the bad.

Perhaps its time to move on. Its important that you know and understand your worth as a person. It is not up to the other person to determine how you get treated, it is up to you. You teach people how to treat you base on what you accept and don't accept, what you say and don't say.

In all things....Know your worth. Understanding your worth and value as a human being is the key to being treated well.

Friends dont lie to you. You dont need friends that are backstabbers, Just ignore her and maybe she will go away. They just have to find someone they can pick on because of their own insecurities in this cruel world. I have been in this situation before. Just pass this off as a bad experience and just watch what you have to say to people before you become friends. True friends will be there in the long haul not the fake ones who just want some attention. Good luck

A deliberate lie to hurt you? This person wasn't your friend to start with.

People who lie are not worth being with.

Lol ....if that person is really your friend? If you think yes! then call him or her and ask directly! And tell what do u think!

If you don't he or she is not your friend then don't waste your time to even think about them.

They don't sound like a friend to me. I think you need to re-think this. If they were a friend, they wouldn't do that.
