any upgrades of any kind would be greatly appreciated

It's not an easy job. The motor has to be removed from the frame. Then remove the clutch, gear shift linkage, flywheel, alternator, starter clutch, split the crankcase. I could go on. I forgot the special tools you'll need and torque specs. Like I first said, it's not an easy job. Especially if you've never done any trani work on a bike before.

If you have to ask, it's a job best left to the experts, as it involves a complete engine tear down to repair the gearbox.
