I have the similar problem. It bugs me no end. watch your salt intake. not just the salt you put on your food, but salty foods, people who cook with salt, canned foods have salt, processed foods have lots of salt(lunch meat, hot dogs etc). read the pkgs of the food you eat, calulate how much salt you are taking in, cut back and drink lots of water to flush out your body. at night when you go to bed, raise your legs and feet up higher than your heart. also exercise. sweat the excess water/salt from your body but drink water when you do. if it continues to bother you go to your regular doctor and ask for water pills.

Follow up with a doctor! Keep a daily weight log along with a food diary. This will come in very handy when you see the doctor. If you are having shortness of breath you need to go back to the ER (I'm an ER nurse). This may be something that will take some extra testing to figure out - but you should follow up!

Go back to the hospital and request a copy of your admissions papers and any other papers that involve that hospital visit.
By law they are legally binded to give them to you.
These papers will have a diagnosis on them.
I am a nurse and I have never seen a patient not get a diagnosis of some sort for any visit.

i would go back and demand to know what is causing it or even better try another hospital and tell them that you have been and that they admitted you but never told you what was wrong with you and that its really bothering you!it can be dangerous!some hospitals really suck now days,my sisterin laws mom went to our local hospital 3 days in a row and they kept sendimg her home telling her she just had a nerve problem in her back then we took her to another and guess what, the first hospital was wrong, she died 3 days later from staph in her lungs!that was what was hurting her back and if the first hospital had done their job right they might have had a chance to save her!

It my help if you cut back on your sodium ( salt) intake because this can make your body retain water and cause swelling. You may want to go to Puritain Pride.com ( sells vitamins and herbal products) and find the water pills they sell.

That happens to be if I go bare foot all day w/ out socks, my feet and hands swell, wear socks and shoes, or just socks would let more moister escape.

Stop drinking alcohol (including beer) and cut way back on your salt. Drink plenty of water and tea for a few days and see if that helps.

Get a second opinion. That doesn't sound too good. Try another doctor.
