Does race play a role in being able to enter society?

Well, are you a male or a female?

If you're a male, you better know how to play football or basketball and you'll need a bullet proof ego.

If you're a female you better be in your teens or twenties and ifyou're not already gorgeous, get yourself to a plastic surgeon and turn yourself into a Barbie Doll. Then go hang out at bars where wealthy older guys pick up young hot chicks and get picked up. Be prepared to sell your soul to the wrinkly old devil and then you can earn the right to hang out with the other Barbie's until a newer model catches old dudes eye.

Sorry Pal, there is nothing regal or royal about "High Society". They have all the same weird petty stuff going on that happens in a trailer park only they have better clothes and toys.

Unless you are born a blue blood, you will ALWAYS stick out like a new rich wannabe if you try and siddle up to an heiress at the Derby.

Yeah, race is a part of it, im sure. Why would you want to? Are you just itching to hang out with stuffy, puffed up, whiteys? If it's their game that you want to play, you have to play it by their rules. You'll have to conform to their idea about what a person like you is like. Find a template for an acceptable stereo-type and play the part. If you are too far from their expectations, they will avoid and/or fear you. They are lazy and dont like being made to think or expand their horizons. Find movies with people of your race in high society and study it, it could help.

This day and time, race doesn't play a major roll in anything. It only matters how hard a person works to achieve what they want.

No, there is only one common demoninator, money and lots of it. Of course the old money will hold up their noses to new money, but there are lot of new monies around, and lots of wannabees who will be more than happy to socialize with you.
