If she hit the baby hard enough, it's abuse.
Doesn't matter if it's a technique.
I would've reported her for safety.
Why do people let that stuff just go!!!!

I have never heard of that and I am a mother of 4, ranging in ages from 14 to 2.IF she was discipling a poor helpless child,God be with that child because NO woman who calls herself a mom should hit a child, who can't walk, on the bottom of the feet to discipline him!!!That is so sad.

I agree that communities should not be worried with tailoring a ballpark to at least one or 2 hitters' needs. yet to say that gamers now whine better than gamers of the previous would no longer be a correct evaluation. in recent times, there are a thousand million media shops surrounding each marginally in demand human being, and gamers are not any exception. in the adventure that they are putting forward some thing about it, you'll listen about it. Who knows, perchance Babe Ruth complained about his ballpark to the crew for all time. We does no longer understand because he did no longer have a microphone in his face and Twitter in his hand to inform the international. i imagine a better precise statement will be that you listen gamers whinge better proper this second.

If she was using it as a form of punishment that's just messed up! When my brother was a baby he would forget to breath and the doctor told my mom to tap the bottom of his feet to startle him just enough to get him back in the rhythm of breathing. That's the only time I've heard of doing it for a sane reason, but obviously if the kid was walking around the kid was breathing.

It is an old folks tale. It is suppose to help the child walk a little better. And strengthen their feet. So they can walk in hard bottom shoe with out pain. So the saying goes. I hope this helps.

The Chinese actually used to hit their babies feet so that the baby would live long and do well. In the 1300s it was believed that if the body feel off the feet it was bad luck.

Hey, have you ever had anyone slap the bottoms of your feet really hard? You'd think it would hurt, but it feels aawwwsoome! lol maybe the kid liked it and the mom was in some sort of way showing affection. Sounds crazy, i know, but hey, you never know. lol

ive heard of people doing that to their babies as punishment. there can be no detected bruised or redspots if they do it on the feet, but what they dont realize is that it can still harm a baby mentally, studies have shown that babies who get their feet and hands swatted are less likely to use them to explore their world around them and are less likely to develop properly.

The soles of the feet are very tender, especially on a baby where no calluses have formed. I assume she feels it is more painful than a butt swat.
