If you believe in Jesus you'll go to heaven and be with god for all eternity. Else you'll go to hell where suffering never ends.

This question is one that every human that has ever walked on this planet has asked. Some people have been lucky enough so they say to have had an afterlife experience. I have yet to see any refuteable answers saying that they were wrong and it was only a blip created by the state of their condition with all of the trauma they are experiencing combined with very potent narcotic medications. I have seen where people that have experienced a brief moment of the after life via a near death experience of which these people easily pass a lie detector test along with a "sodium Penathatol" interview without any problem. These tests are very difficult for someone to pass if they are truly lying to us. Most people that have these experiences are good common folk that do not have a pathological bone in their body. A while back I talked to a cardiologist that performed heart byepass surgery. I asked him if any of his patients that died on the operation table but fortunately came back to life ever experienced an after life experience. He told me that this has happened to some of his patients that have briefly flat screened but were revived by him or his assistant. He looked me straight in the eye and told me without a doubt that he believed these patients in that he saw a tremendous change come about in the life's of these patients. He is a very educated man that was trained at one of the best medical schools on the west coast. Just for one minute stop and think about the whole infinite complexity of life on our planet. It is quit mind boggling. If I was a betting man, I once in a while feed the quarter slots, I would put my good money on the reality that there is life after death.

It depends on what you believe in. If you ask my mother she believes that after death that the eternal life is reincarnation. Have you ever had that deja vu feeling before? Like you'd been there, done that. She believes that is our old life connecting with our present life. But then again, a lot of people believe in Heaven and that's a wonderful belief to have. Some people believe there is nothing, just death. Have you ever heard that song "I'm not afraid of dying, its the thought of being dead" ? You'll never really know, its like you're asleep you just wont wake up. But everyone has their own beliefs.

If you believe in a Creator -- or God -- as I do then you must believe what His words say on the matter. His words are found in the Holy Bible. One passage of it reads... to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ. In other words life doesn't end when our time in our mortal earth suits runs out. No, life doesn't end with that... it continues on with Christ Jesus, in the place where He dwells. Of course that is contingent on whether or not you are a Christian and have personally accepted Him and His truth for yourself in this life. If you have not, there is another place where "life" continues and it's not with Christ. Read, explore the Holy Bible for yourself. If you are completely unfamiliar with it, begin reading the New Testament, the Gospel of John. It's a good place to get your feet wet. Also Romans, chapter 10 beginning with verse 9 explains a bit about how one begins a personal eternal journey with the Creator/God/Christ Jesus. This is not a intellectual journey. It is a spiritual one that must be approached by faith (just believing)...and not current tangible proof.

You're put into a coffin and lowered into the ground after a bunch of people who hated you lie and gather around to talk about how great a person you were. Or you're burned and scattered in an ocean or river or left in a shallow grave or in a field to be eaten by maggots and beetles and things or...or in some cases used as sex objects just as in life.

Sadly, I dont think anything happens, at least not to your awareness. I belive it would probably be similar to what you experience when you sleep at night between dreams. There is just nothingness, which is not all bad, as there are things worse than death. As far as your body is concerned, you decompose and return to the elements that you were brought forth from. On a lighter note, I hope I'm wrong.

Your soul floats up and joins hands with millions of other souls which form a spiral helix (just like DNA) and you float/fly/spiral down towards the sun. When you reach the sun ("the light") you get reborn. Sorry but there is no heaven. You just get another life on a planet near your star. In your case, Earth.

If you've fallen victim to God's little joke and fallen for his riddle, you'll be thwarted forever from his kingdom.
The First Commandment states: I am the Lord your God that brought you out of slavery. Worship no false Gods before me.
The Bible also tells us that this is the Most important Commandment and the ONE that God will not forgive you for breaking.
When someone tells you that the only way to get to God is to accept a man as God, and they theaten you with eternal damnation if you don't, they're manipulating your fear to worship a false God.
Loving God will give you the strength to see past this Lie.

DEATH. IF HEAVEN OR HELL EXIST AFTER LIFE, YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE ALIVE PHYSICALLY TO FEEL THE PLEASURE OF HEAVEN OR THE PAIN OF HELL. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYONE RETURNING FROM A PHYSICAL DEATH LIVING TO TELL WHAT HAPPENS AFTER DEATH? DONT GIVE ME AN EXPLANATION FROM TAMPERED/EDITED HOLY BOOKS, RELIGIONS OR SOME T.V SHOW LIKE CROSSING OVER, THATS JUST PEOPLE CAPITALIZING OFF OF THE MASSES IGNORANCE OF THE UNKNOWN. I WAS ONCE MENTALLY DEAD BUT NOT PHYSICALLY DEAD. BE REALISTIC THERE IS NO RETURN FROM A PHYSICAL DEATH, YOU WONT SEE YOUR DEAD FRIENDS, FAMILY, ANCESTORS OR CELEBRITIES WEARING ALL WHITE CHILLING WITH GOD ON SOME CLOUD, SNAP OUT OF IT! DEAL WITH REALITY.

2 Corinthians 5:7-9 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain
7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
