I get on yahoo answers all the time, I have looked the site over far and wide. This category seems to be the most popular. That's why I am asking this question here, I hope to recieve alot of answers..anyways... I have been thinking about becomming a Real Estate agent for quite some time now. I know that the competition is fierce and that it takes a long time to make it to the top. So I was wanting to hear from some Real Estate agents or maybe if you have a firend or spouse that does it. How ong did it take you to become successful? Has it been worth it? Do you like it? IF you could go back would you still do it? Thanks in advance for the answers...

I am a Realtor and I would say first you have to like helping people. How long to be successful? Depends on your def. I felt successful the instant I passed the state test. Worth it? Yes. Do I like it? Yes. Do it again? Yes, I wish I had done it sooner. I would say the single most important thing getting started was to find an office that offers training and support. It is an expensive business to get into - you are, after all running your own business and marketing yourself - have several months worth of savings to live on if you are not able to rely on a spouse or partners income until you get going. And don't knock that 3% - or whatever it works out to be, it can be different on every deal, even a small % of several hundred thousand is still sweet money.

Depends on what sort of man, if he is a nerd then usually sure. If he is only a man who did frequently in college then usually he would possibly not care, however what is particularly a flip off for men is while he sees a woman devour like a fats@$$, if he's an engineer and talks approximately stuff that u have no idea then simply say "yeah" to the whole lot he is says

Don't expect much unless you put in 200% and then you might get close to a 100% of your expectation. Its a bit of a racket, I tried it and it was nice I did enjoy it but no money. As a beginner you have to use any and all sales tactics and some of them were not my nature. If you can get to the point where you have a lot of return business and have become established then its nice but getting to that point especially now with the way the market is you have a slim chance these days. My opinion is its all about who you can be if you can be pushy, very aggressive, have unlimited time to spend, and know a lot of people you might can make it.

Not that I want the 2 points, but you seriously need to push this question into the right category. Whats a question related to real estate agents doing in a "marriage & divorce" section?! beats me.
anyways, i really hope you get the right answers.

you only get money if you sell a house....no sell, no money, and then you have to wait for escrow to close, 30 45 days, then you get a check(for 3% of the price of the house you sold)
