Because we elected him, twice. Yes, twice. And I'd go for a third term if for no other reason than to p*ss you people off.

The only reason George W. Bush is president of the USA is because of the problem with the voting. I believe that Al Gore won the election. It's funny that this whole mess developed in the state where George W Bush's brother was govenor.

It's very simple. He knew that in order to get elected President you had to have a certain number of Electoral College votes, like we've all known since the day that system was developed. And so he went to the people of the United States and told them what he thought and what he'd do as President, and enough people agreed with him, twice, that he won more than the necessary number of electoral college votes to become President. You must be very young in order not to know that. I hope you learn, in the very near future, the simplicity of it all. Remember, the next election is only two years away, and it's so very simple to get yourself registered to vote and then do so. And that's such a simple process, that even, as the tv commercial says, "It's so simple even a caveman can do it." Good luck, and God Bless you.

He was not voted in by the POPULAR vote the first time (just electoral college). He was, however, voted in by both POPULAR AND ELECTORAL VOTE the second time. People wanted him here.
Just to give you an example. I'm an avid democrat ( and I mean DIE HARD) but i seriously considered voting for Bush this past election (the diehard democrat in me just wouldnt' let me). Why did I consider voting for Bush? Well, he'd started a war with another country. two in fact. Why should I vote in a democrat to turn around a take the fallf or what this guy did a la Jimmy Carter? I should vote for the guy who made the bed and let him lie in it.
But i didn't have to vote for Bush. He won anyway. And now he's lying in the bed he made. And he deserves to.

Personality and charisma get votes. Maybe those things shouldn't be important, but they are to plenty of people. And the Democratic Party hasn't been smart in their nominations because in both 2000 and 2004, they nominated candidates no one could possibly get excited about. In 2004 especially, almost anyone should have been able to beat Bush considering how much people hated him but the Democrats decided to nominate a guy who looked like he'd been dead for five years who people associated with ketchup. Sadly, the people who voted for Kerry voted for him because they hated Bush, not because they loved Kerry. I hope they learn their lesson and next time choose a candidate with charisma and some fresh ideas.

Because their are so many idiots in this country who believe anything the press says, and they were scared to death by the terror threats being issued by the Bush propaganda machine. The other half that voted for Bush probably actually believed he is a Christian, even though he put more people to death on death row in Texas than any govenor in history.

Then some idiots probably spell Bush's first name the same way you did and George himself probably does!
He probablly can't spell potato either!

the place to start? the guy became thoroughly unqualified. 9/11 occurred on his watch. We have been led right into a thoroughly pointless and unjustified conflict below fake pretenses and one in all a plethora of different subject concerns: this organization of sanctioning torture is a intense violation of the 1984 UN convention on Torture , ( which the US signed to boot as over a hundred different countries ). For me Bush is President Katrina.

I'm still not so sure he WAS elected-at least by the popular vote! Maybe if an honest recount of the popular votes in each state was done, the outcome MIGHT have been much different-even in some of the DIE-HARD so-called Republican states; which probably would have changed the electoral vote tally.

Because he ran for President and played by the rules and was elected by the American people. The John Kerry losers will never accept the defeat.
