You might try downloading Yahoo's free Anti-Spy. Your computer may have "spyware" on it.

The best way is to download Ccleaner here http://bitly.com/UrALrK
Or you can go on Windows operating system locate the command prompt and go there to do the following:
Create a Recovery file of system and date it today.
Then begin by;
delete the 'Temp' folders..they have hidden subfolders so you need to set the attributes in order to bypass this. For each subfolder delete all cookies and rubbish left behnd after install-uninstalled programs. Do a 'dir' command to check your progress. Make sure the 'Temp' file is empty.
goto c:\windows\prefetch and delete everything in there..no exceptions
goto c:\windows folder and delete all the '$' files that have been installed by updates. They can all be succesfully deleted and just take up disk space.
Locate the Internet Temporary Files..Check to see how high the saving level is..some have it set at 30 days..but that stores faaaar tooo much data..though it slows down the system overal. Keep this to a minimum..suggest 2 or 5 at most.
Delete all 'cookies' all those you don't need.
Locate the windows directory and go through the folders you know and those you don't need. Check this once a week at least. Some programs will install under XP as NT and older systems where there is no check of systems weight.
Check to see that system files have not changed since last booting. Things like .ini files or .bat are important items.
Check for 'Hidden Directories' all over the disk...do this at the command prompt:
dir *.* /ah wil show these hidden directories
Check the 'dir' command for all parameters

To get your system information, go to RUN and type in DXDIAG.
There are several possibilities that may be causing your system to lagg (perform slowly). The following are the main most common factors and how to fix it.
1. Too many programs running at once - Although it may appear as if you were only running windows media player, it could be that there are 30 or more processes running in stealth. To solve this, go to RUN and type in MSCONFIG. Then go to the last tab of MSCONFIG called "Startup". There you will see a lot of check boxes, uncheck everything you reconize as a previously installed program component except for your firewall. This would decrese the amount of RAM being used.
2. Viruses - A pesky and annoying program that causes disruptions in your system. To solve this, you will need to download some free anti-malware software. For Viruses, get TrendMicro Housecall, and for Adware, get Adaware SE. Both programs can be found free at www.pcworld.com/52516
3. Too much computer clutter - Overtime, your computer would get cluttered with too much junk files that may hog up your system hard drive over time. To solve this, you will need to get a system optimizer program and sort things out. CCleaner is a very good free program that does just that, you can also find it at www.pcworld.com/52516
4. Too little system resources - Well, this is the least common factor though the most headaching. If you have too old of an computer, there would not be enough sufficient RAM and CPU speed to run today's applications, hence you will not experience the full performance. The only way to solve this is by buying more RAM and perhaps changing your CPU.

Delete your cookie files and any unused programs you may no longer be using. Also download and run a good spyware program to get rid of any spyware that may be hogging up space and causing slow downs on the net. Defragment. If the problem still exist you could have too much space used up with downloads and could need to either delete some things or purchase more memory.

start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system information.
or go to run, type : "dxdiag"
press CTRL-ALT-DEL check what background programs are running and go to run, type : "msconfig" and select bootup tab, uncheck those you don't want. It might be a virus, malware, etc those crap causing your computer to be slow.
I suggest you get more RAM (cost about SGD$78 for every 256RAM). I suggest you get 1GIG RAM (2x 512RAM)
