If you have a good undergraduate degree, you probably won't require a Masters' degree to get a good job. Except that you are doing Masters in Business Administration, your bachelors or undergraduate degree is just fulfil the requirement.

As far as getting a good job with Masters' degree is concerned, I feel that its a matter of pure luck as usually Masters degree doesn't count a lot or give an edge over others who do not have one. But of course, its a source of self satisfaction and confidence for a person who has a Masters degree.

i suppose it is all relative. define a good job? for my profession, a masters degree is required in order to practice. i have the opportunity of working in public schools, private practice, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, etc; since my job is in demand. therefore, it really is relative in what your degree is in, and what you define as a good job.

i enjoy my job very much, and have the opportunity to work up a pay scale to make decent money. i also have the flexibility to do side work as well.

i think it should be mentioned that in certain fields, if one were to pursue a Ph.D. you typically have a more difficult time finding a job because you are considered to be over-qualified. hence, in today's society, master degrees has really become what the BS/BA degree was 20 plus years ago.

I don't have a masters,my highest is 11th grade ,then a GED. I have been President of a international company and a Ambassador for a state in the country of Switzerland.
I have seen people with degrees and they had the sense of a burro. I have met uneducated people ,whom have become millionaires and billionaires. For some a Masters or a Phd is need for the profession they choose. If you creat your own business ,your always the boss. But please do finish school by all means and good luck to you in your venture.

I think this all depends on the person's definition of a "good job". I have a job that I love and meets more of my needs than just what the paycheck provides. This is more important to me than a bigger paycheck. I could probably get a higher paying job in nursing with a masters, but the personal satisfaction wouldn't be there.

Masters degree definitely add a a value as well as adds to your salary. But it also depends from where have you completed your bachelors degree from, if its from a good university then thats enough. It gives you professional recognition but Masters degree is a specialiasation.

It doesn't matter what type of degree you have---if you are not street smart and a real people person you probably won't get the job.
