I know that there are alot of people out there that are against abortion but what about if someone was raped? Would it then be OK for the woman to have an abortion?

Alot of people have said that the you should keep the baby and put it up for adoption but has anyone thought about how the child would feel later in life knowing that their father is a rapist and their mother was too emotionally distraught to keep you. Growing up is hard enough without something like that on your mind.

Abortion should always be a last resort. Having had one as a teenager, I learned the hard way that there are immeasurable emotional consequences that one cannot fathom. But if the carrying of such a child would be equally or more emotionally harmful to the impregnanted woman, I think it is a very viable option. I would never have another one, and am deeply regretful of the one I did have. I would carry the child to term, and put it up for adoption. The child has no fault in the grotesque and dispicable acts of his/her biological father.

That is a good question. My husband and I are torn between this one. See I was raised in a catholic setting, I mean I even taught Sunday school. My husband is catholic as well but believes that if a woman is raped there is a well balanced reason for abortion. I was raped myself and to be brutally honest with you, I would have gone through with an abortion. Why would I want to bring a harmless child into this world whom I did not want but got in a very disgusting manner. In the end my say is yes if you feel that you will not love a child that is conceived from rape then go through with it.

I am against abortion. However, I feel IF a woman was raped, she should give up her child for adoption. That way, she isn't brought into this world, feeling unwanted(if she wanted an abortion).the baby wasn't the "bad guy".It's an innocent child.IF the victim wanted to keep the child, great!!But don't be mad towards the child later. No matter what the victim decides, she needs to get help from a rape counselor and if a minor, let her parents help her.If it's an adult, talk to her closest friends or someone she can trust.NEVER go it alone!!

I don't believe that's it's okay for an abortion...even if she was raped!! That child was meant to be conceived at that precise moment and if the girl had to be raped, then that's how it had to happen!! Every child is a miracle from God and I don't think it should be killed just because it was conceived by rape!! I can tell you w/o a doubt if I was raped and I got pregnant, I would keep the baby!! So please, if you were raped...don't get an abortion!! Your child does not deserve to be punished for something that was not his/her fault!!!

I believe that in a rape abortion would be alright. I don't agree with abortion being used as a birth control but in cases of rape and incest, I believe that its use can do alot of good. After a rape, I know alot of women do not want a baby with the perp that committed the crime. So, yes..it is alright.

This is not an easy question to answer as everyone has their own opinions on abortion. I personally don't believe in it - but I've never been raped so I honestly don't know what I would do. So I say this decision is totally up to the person.

In my opinion it is very justified. You never consented to the sex in the first place so why should you be responsible for the child after. The psychological stress that would be placed on such a situation for the mother is enormous. All this of course is dependant on the persons view of abortion.

My wife is 6+ months pregnant right now. She's always uncomfortable, hormones out of wack, body much different then she's used to. I think the main thing she thinks about when things get tough is that it's our child and has the privilidge and wonderful gift of giving birth to the next chapter of our family. There's no way I could imagine what it would be like without the "good side" of it all.

no its not okay to have an abortion a baby is a gift. Its not the your fault or the baby's fault. you could always give the baby up for adoption or raise it yourself. even though it would be harder to raise the baby knowing you conceived it from being raped you have to remember that baby is a part of you and it is neither your fault or the baby's.
