because society has ingrained it into us to have the mentality that men can do whatever they please and that women have this precious virginity they are to guard against all except their husbands and they are to submit to them. a woman who sleeps around is synonymous of power and independance and belongs less to her future hubby than she would if he were the only one she ever "gave herself to" its all societal--you wont find that to be true in matriarcal societies...

I think it is because men basically for the most part are pigs. They have a double standard. If they have sex with a woman,it's okay. But if a woman has sex with a man, they (the men),Think this is wrong. For the most part,I believe this stems from a hurt ego,men believe if they are not the first, then the woman is tainted, and not worthy of their attention. Men also feel that the more women they have sex with, the more bragging rights they have. To most men I believe that they feel a woman's place is at home or at least standing back in the shadows, and not open and available to the public. And believe it or not,I am a male! I believe that women deserve respect. Which unfortunately still in todays society that men view women as the inferior sex.

it's just another way of objectifying women. It's all about making sure they understand that they will never to be equall to men. Yes, it's jacked up. I don't believe in that, but I'm just answereing the question. I don't call girls hoes, and sluts and stuff, or make it seem like they are a worse person for sleeping around with lots of guys, than guys are for sleeping with lots of girls. Some people see it being different because girls let people inside them, but it's all stupid anyway to me.

No. Girls get called "hos" when they have sex with many many guys. When A guy does that they just get their *** beat. Trust me.

It really urks me when people ask this question because it screams that the chick is insecure and LISTEN:

If you want to be a ho, be a ho. No one is gonna come down on you for it, its in your heart. If you don't want to have sex with many guys then why even ask? See, I mean just do it no one cares. If you really were concerned about being a ho then you wouldn't even be asking this question. It just lets people know whats going through your head.

WEAR PROTECTION!

It's a double standard in society. And it's very unfair to women. As long as the woman enjoys and knows what she's doing, is aware of the possible consequences, uses contraceptives/protection, stays very safe, and most importantly is not being forced into it, then she should do what she wants to do.

Go woman power! :-)

It's a double standard. Women are expected to be selective and sleep with a select few but men can sleep with over a dozen women. I feel as if its OK with you then do it. F**k the haters

Guys are the only ones who buy into that...and they do buy into it....It is best for everyone to have as few mates as possible because each time you give away a little of yourself.

Society is generally mysogynistic, that's why. What do you care if peopel call you a "ho"? As long as you are enjoying yourself and taking care of yourself (not having unwated pregnancies, protecting yourself from STDs), it's really none of their business.
