i have look up some information on the internet and have came across the possiblility that it could be the harmonic balancer, but i think i need more input if anyone can add some comments it would be a great help!. thanks

then you could be right your rods are ready to go through the hood and you could be setting yourself up for a breakdown i would stop driving it right away and seek mechanical help.

I once owned a 15 year old car. It was really expensive. It kept breaking down and causing me to miss work AND pay to have the vehicle fixed.
I turned in the piece of crap and leased a brand new car. It was wonderful! I would turn the key and the car would start! I could take a 50 mile trip and know it would get there.
Forget about those old, broken-down junkers. They aren't worth the hassle.

It could be the timing belt. i had some knocking going on under the hood and thats the reason i was told. But for some reason the knocking stopped after a couple weeks.

Lower end. Best to get a different car or another engine. 2.2/2.5 or V6?

Tow it to a Mechanic you trust. It could be Bad.

if you have to keep putting oil into it then your engine is bout ready to blow

get a new car

check your oil you might blow the engine if your not careful
