just go to a gay bar/meeting/function and be yourself. just because you are just now realizing your desires it doesn't mean that you're a totally different person. you're the same person you've always been, just with a little clearer perspective.

Hey Friend, I'm in the closet as well and thought I'd read your post to see if anyone had any interesting ideas. Unfortionatly most of your responses are wimsical or down right rude. Speaking of which, if you came here to bash homosexuality why did you even open the question's page?
But I digress. Most towns have gay communities, you just need to look. Depending on your age there are Gay Bars and Clubs as well. Not all gays are flamboyantly "out", a lot of us are more reserved about our life choices.

I don't know or care, but acting like a girl isn't the way to do it. The reason gays are so hated by everyone else is that they insist on be as annoying as they can, and I know it's all for attention. I never could figure out why loving someone from another gender would make you act like a totally different person.

I don't want to rag on you, but when I grew up, I didn't announce myself to the straight community...you just are there, being with folk, enjoying their company. Some things don't have to be said - or perhaps you want a coming out party like those girls in the southern USA who have the debutant balls?

There probably is a gay center around where you live. Just go over there and start participating in thier activities and groups. There are plenty of people who found out later in life that they are gay.

Best way to come out to your local gay community is to get involved in your community.
Go to your GLBT community center or bookstore & check out their bulletin boards.
Pick up a copy of your local GLBT newspaper & familiarize yourself with ongoing activities, special events & volunteer opportunities.
Find something that interests you & then explore it.
Get active.

go to social functions sponsored by a group in the gay community. like, here there is this one in teen thing i think i may start going to the meetings. and gay pride is great...but look for things like that in your area. theres a thing for gays here too that u can go and volunteer at functions.
