I can only use things from the house, like bottles, jar lids, straws, etc. Nothing can be from a kit or anything like that. Please help!

Thanks for the suggestions, but what I did was I used a small bottle with wheels on toothpicks that were inbetween the bottle and I put a rubber band at the end and made a circle with it on the top and put a balloon in, blew it up, and it went nicely. I got an A on my final for it!

Use a Rubber Band. Affix the front of the rubber band to the front of the undercarriage, attach the other end to the rear axle. When you twist the wheels backwards, you cause tension in the rubber band. When you let go, the car will move forward until the rubber band becomes relaxed.

Well, you can use a plastic soda pop bottle and charge it with air from a compressor as those plastic bottles will take a tremendous amount of pressure before they blow.

Now, if you can figure out how to release the air in a controlled stream and some way to blow against a wind-vane which could be linked to a driven wheel or axel, you just might get the beast to move long enough to win your science fair.

take a rubber band and fix one end to something that cant move, then pull it through a straw, then attach a paper clip to the unfixed end, next twist the rubber band many times, it should spin, you can then put jar lid or something round on the paper clip for a wheel... you may have to play around with it to get it to not touch the straw... good luck
