There have been universities in existence for several thousand years, dating back at least to the height of Ancient Greece. I sincerely doubt that the name of the first university or its first student still exists anywhere in human knowledge.

It depends on what counts as a "university."

In the sense that a university is an organization of scholars for the purpose of exchanging and building knowledge, there have been organizations around for thousands of years. The Sumerians and Babylonians beat even the Greeks to developing such organizations.

But as a true "university" must grant bachelors, masters, and doctorates (which requires that it have graduate schools, and makes it different from just a "college"), the first true university was the UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA, founded in 1088.

If it has to be an actual "University," then it's probably the University of Bologna in Italy, known as the "Alma Mater Studorium."

First scholars from this university were Pepone and Irnerio.
