Alberta is the easiest place in the world to find a job!!!!

Especially in the OIL INDUSTRY!

Sounds like there is something seriously wrong!

Kids with no high school get very high paying jobs in Fort McMurray.

Is he legal to work here? If not that would be the problem! Then is should be incrediablly easy to find a job!

This happened to my family too, except 11 years ago. Sad to see that not much has changed. My dad was in the oil industry too and we came to Alberta because of its oil industry thinking it would be easy for him to find a job. NOT It took him 6 months to find a job.
Employers in Calgary find it hard to hire someone with schooling from another country and think them less compatable because of it a lot of the times. The only thing your dad can do is keep trying and trying and trying and he'll eventually get a job.
Or find someone with connections that could help you out to make it a quicker process.
Good luck to you and your family!

Jobs used to all be posted in the Sunday newspaper. But today there are a lot of competing ways jobs are posted. Some companies use an internet site like Monster.com, others use trade magazines or something more targeted than a newspaper.

Your father may not be used to this and does not know where to look. Talk to a human resource rep at tsome of the larger employers and ask where they post openings, and you may find other companies use the same.
