We has a really fun one that was low key, at a bar in a private room with a DJ playing tunes from high school days. People paid to go and got drink tickets. Drinks are key for awkward situations, of course. Another fun thing we did was photocopy and put up old year book pictures and made name tags where people wore their senior pic. Also put pics. of ladies in the men's room and vice-versa. We got in touch with a lot of people through classmates.com (they have a reunion organizer which is helpful) and through word of mouth collecting emails and address updates.

First check out Reunion.com and Classmates.com - unless you don't want to spend the money to join their sites. Sometimes you can go back to your high school and check to see how many people have kept in touch with it and if anyone has family still in that town. You can also check all the different "people search" sites. As far as the party goes - you need to find out who was the class sponsor and treasurer and see if there is any money left in the class fund. Otherwise you will need to have money up front to pay for food, entertainment, and renting a hall, room, etc. unless the school will let you use the gym. Last 2 reunions from my school tickets and R.S.V.P.'s were used - tickets were $25 first year and $35 second year, per person. It's a major job to do a reunion and takes 5-10 people working on it for about a year ahead of time. I think a family park and picnic type activity would be better but I guess alot of people want to dress up and impress old classmates. It's hard to do that when your child just spilled mustard or something on you or in my case it would be my grandchild.

To start with, contact your Alma mater, they probably have the addresses of some of you school mates and then contact each of the people they give you a contact to. If this doesn't work, put advertisements in all major newspapers in your area and if anyone contacts you, you can ask them if they know how to get in touch with anyone.

There are so many things to do at a reunion. Start by decorating with a theme from when you were in school.

If you can get three pictures of each of your classmates, one when they were young or babies, one when you went to school and one from today, have a contest to see who can match the most pictures correctly.

Have a reception and a dinner and then a dance after the dinner.

If you want to make it an all weekend event, you can have a fun fair or family picnic or you can even go as big as a golf tournament, a karaoke night etc.

Oh yes, I forgot classmates.com, I joined it 2 years ago but didn't find very many contacts there.

So many things to do. Good Luck with it and have fun.

Yes, but it is not easy as a breeze to do. Lots of planning to
make it successful. Get as many up-to-date addresses of
classmates as possible (this alone is not easy). Set a date,
make reservations at a home, restaurant, or convention
center including meal (casual or sit down), send out the
invitations including date, place, time, and price making sure
they reply to your address with their reservation to come.
Day of party, decorate tables, have some kind of program
or speaker. dj or canned music, and then relax, visit, and
enjoy seeing old acquaintances again. You'll be glad you did.
