If you absolutely can't find a slip that's not white, then go with white. If the dress is of a fairly solid fabric, though, you should be alright with white.

If it was me I would wear a white slip with a white skirt, but it depends on what you want to show. If you don't want anything to show than wear a white slip.

I was told along time ago you should never wear white lingerie under white clothing. The crispness of the white on white will only accent.
Wear a beige or nude color slip to add opaque-ness but still not be revealing.

I don't know if you are a woman of color but I am and I've noticed that when you wear white anything ever color shows through except black. I'm sure that's the case no matter what your skin tone is.
