After 20 years at the same small company, where he worked 6 days/wk., every week,
my husband's boss fired him because of an argument they had. It was stupid, about my husband taking an emergency call from me...his wife of 31 yrs.,I've been sick for 1.5yrs.,and homebound, and sometimes needed Tom to pick-up a Rx, or dinner, etc.
Tom LEARNED and DID every job in the place. He was supposed to be their warehouseman, but, they were short-handed, so he also did retail sales, deliveries,
lamp repair, counter sales, talked with Reps, etc. 2 months earlier, he dislocated his shoulder, at work, and had to wear an immobilizer for 2 months,...BUT, he still went to work---every day!!! And, as if it wasn't enough to fire him,...this 'BOSS' filed an appeal with unemployment, saying Tom shouldn't get it because of "Insubordination"!! Worst yet,
the Unemployment hearing person AGREED!!! and, they took away Tom's unemployment!!!
They said, workers may never "talk-back" to bosses!!! REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever heard the expression "Nice Guys Finish Last" ? Well your husband was way beyond a nice guy- he became this guys lackey, no disrespect, some people get rewarded 4 hard work but i will tell u this, as the years go by i believe in that statement more and more. I'm nice to someone they take my kindness 4 weakness and try to get over, If i totally rip on someone after say this same jack*ss 4 months has been asking me 4 a smoke every time i see him every day, come to find he hits up 10 other people and has a pack in his pocket already so i wait 4 the next day let him come over and ask and i pull the pack out of his coat and take half the pack, all along calling him !@#?*& and dont come near me again! Next day he was casper b4 i got their the funny thing was i hated his brand so i ended up giving them to some old street vet. I cant really answer this EVIL ? all i know is in this day and age u can't just assume everyone is like you fair and kind. NOBODY CARES ANYMORE, its a shame. That boss did it why? Cause he can. don't get no simpler than that

Respect. The boss loss respect for himself. Because he feels so bad about who he is, picking on someone that is basically a decent person makes the boss feels good. He forgets all the good things your husband has done for him and the company because he needs to exercise his power to prove to himself, he is better than anyone else.

It is sad that people take to work their insecurities and needs of validation. However, your husband might find some other job that will honor and respect him for the decent man he is.

I truly understand your anguish over the given situation, and I also feel as if your husband was treated unfairly.Yet I am reminded of the old saying of "never bite the hand that feeds you'. This is the way of life regardless of however we might feel at any given time. tell your husband to contact a lawyer and to refile his case, better still to contact the better business Inc. and refile his grievance against the company and employer, bring all of his health documentation and work history into the court as well, be prepared for a fight.

This is sad. I feel sorry for him for wanting to stand up for himself after twenty.
What comes around goes around, but try not to seek revenge on the boss. I know that this sounds foolish and your upset about it. TRUE STORY: But a friend of mine got out of a bad relationship because she didn't want to be pushed around anymore. Well when they broke up she took him to court because he was seriously harassing her. He cut her tires EVERY week, made threatening calls to her home and work, got in court and lied to the judge about everything. My friend was going through some emotional stress, and was starting to break down slowly. But anyway, he bothered her for about six months, and they finally went back to court for trans passing around her house.
About two years later, that same person got murdered. I DO NOT WANT you to murder anyone, that's not what I'm saying. I am saying be strong, and trust in god with your heart. Let him fight your battles, not you. Don't you get yourself into trouble. Things will get better, besides your husband seems very smart in a lot of things. Because he stood up for you, and it seems like he doing his job of taking of you. Something good is going to happen to your family, be patient! What goes around comes back around!
keep on laughing, smiling, pushing, and everything is going to be o.k.

I'm sorry to hear this. I'll pray that your husband will get a job soon with a company that appreciates him.

my condolences....perhaps this was the only way to open a new door and though while your in this vengeful state of mind...trust me it is better to pray for your enemy and wish him well and see what better things god has in store for you and your fine husband...tn
