I have lived here all my life and these are the best places, in my opinion.

Someone mentioned the Hereford House above for BBQ. They have bought land over at I-435 and Midland Drive by the Courtyard Motel which would be closer to Olathe/OP than driving over to KCMO. But they haven't started building yet.
Further north on I-435 in Wyandotte County's Village West area by Nascar, the T-Bones, etc., there is a good barbeque restaurant just across from Cabella's and Great Wolf Lodge.

Fiorellas Jack Stack at 95th & Metcalf is the absolute best. Their burnt ends and cheesy potato bake are killer. But Gates BBQ near State Line, Bubba's BBQ on 151st and Murlen in Olathe, and Oklahoma Joes in Overland Park are also good.

Oklahoma Joes BBQ AT I35 119th ST exit in Olathe. Smokeing Joes BBQ on Sante Fe ST near downtown Olathe.Both have excellent BBQ. Other good resturants, not BBQ, in Olathe are Joes Crab Shack, Hooters, and The Machine Shed all near Oklahoma Joes and Jumping Catfish at 151st and Ridgeview in Olathe.

Sorry dude, i hear from everyone that Oklahoma joes is good but my personal opinion is they dont have SH*T compared to Fiorellas!!! that's the BOMB if you have ever been there.
But still even though i live here in Overland Park its ALWAYS worth the drive down to Hereford House.

HANDS DOWN: You have to go to Fiorella's... In OP, it is at 95th and Metcalf... I have been going there for almost 20 years... It is by far the best in the KC area!!!...If you like onion rings, order them... they are HUGE!... You get very generous portions and a very nice dining environment... Anything and everthing tastes absolutely fantastic... It is a must for bbq in KC... You'll enjoy it TRUST ME!

Oklahoma Joe's on Strang Line is good, but portions are small for the price.
there is a place in Levenworth or around there called "Daniel's Bar-B-Que" that is pretty good.
