if you r talking about middle-ages-wise, the castle was the castle and the estate was a manor. the land a lord gives to a less rich noble is called a fief and that noble is then called a vassal. In return for the fief, the vassal would take an oath of loyalty and swore to serve as his lord's knight

The large estate is called a fief that which lords would give vassals in exchange for loyalty; the vassals had to fight 40 days for the king in each year that the agreement stayed true.

I believe that they were called "feifs". This is a large piece of land granted to a noble by the king as a reward for services rendered to the country. Lots of times, the land that was granted was in a recently vanquished area---Like England granting lands and titles in Scotland.

Don't you have a text book with the answers in it somewhere? Did you read the lesson at all? Or are you trying to get all of us to do your homework for you? Very clever ;)

Hi! Fiefdom, fief, feud or fee. I'd use either fiefdom or fief, personally. I know homework can suck, so I hope you'll be finished soon!
