Yes, it could be done, but you would need a very large field. Even so, scientists have allready created super electromagnets to levitate stuff.

No. I don't know why everyone else thinks it can. The electromagnetic force, along with the weak and strong internuclear forces, act very chaoticly and at the atomic level. Gravity acts very predictably and at the scale of the universe. Scientists are trying to unite the four known forces into a grand force but gravity is so different from the other three forces that there is a big problem in doing this. Therefore, it is not conceivable that any electromagnetic field could be devised to counter the effects of gravity.

Thoeretically yes. However, this would have to be an opposite electromagnetic field created by an object at least as large as Earth. Otherwise the gravitational pull of the Earth would pull other objects towards Earth and overcome the opposing forces.

Sure, you can do it with small magnets...put the same poles towards each other, and the one on top will move upwards, defying the earths gravity.....don't confuse the earths magnetics with the earths gravity.....they are two separate things....

possible, but you will need something that will rival the earths magnetic field, and that might require something with great mass, so far scientists only made things levitate, but not strong enough to blow them out of the face of the earth
