Can you just put it through the washer, or is it better to throw it out and buy a new bedsheet?

Neither! Pour peroxide directly onto the spot let it set a few minutes, rinse then toss it in the washer and wash as you usually do! if the stain is stubborn you can pour more peroxide on the spot,Peroxide can be used on any type of color fabric,it won't change the color of the fabric! When my pump hair sray was all gone I washed the bottle and filled it with peroxide and keep it in the laundry room so it's handy for those spots!

That is so gross! I think that you should just buy a new bedsheet.
