There are examples in our current administration and in our congress of both liberals and conservatives awash in scandal. It would be hard to argue that one side is any more or less dishonest than the other. It is really a matter of opinon.
As a person who voted for George Bush twice, I am deeply concerned at times whether or not he is as honest as he proclaimed to be. Between Iraq and phone tapping I must say that he doesnt seem to have the public in mind. I dont like democrats exploiting this for their benefit, but thats politics.
The best answer is to be objective. Find inconsistencies in each party, even the one you support and voice your observations and concerns.

Not only liberals are dishonest and misleading. I think if we all voted w/ our heads and hearts instead of by party lines, our country would be much more tolerant and successful.

They are only dishonest and misleading when they tell the truth about Right Wing idiots. Why is it that Right Wing Radio Hosts always refer to Environmentalists as Environmentalist-Wackos. Isn't that dishonest and misleading?

Bush was dishonest and mislead the country into war, but he isn't a liberal. Separate your facts from your opinions.

It may seem that way to you, but the truth is that there aren't that many liberals left. What passes for liberal today, is conservative to me. As a liberal all I ask for is liberty. True liberty would include, outlaw guns (the freedom to not get shot at), legalize drugs, legalize prostitution, reign in the power of the police, eliminate the drug enforcement industry, good education for all, free medical care for all, specially for women delivering babies - it's cheaper to abort a baby than to have one at a hospital, no going to war against countries that don't attack us, etc. But I'm in the minority and I accept my fate. You win for now so keep on gloating brothers, we'll see who gets the last laugh. Right now you have everything you could want. You have Congress, The Supreme Court, The President, over two thousand dead soldiers, 300+ Billion dollar deficits, The constituion will be amended to rule out gay marriages. A fiasco after a hurricane, looters, shooters, gasoline at $3.00 a gallon. You have everything you ever wanted!!! So, enjoy and quit whining. Peace, love, hug a tree, save the whales, save the monarch butterfly, make levees not war, keep abortion safe and legal, support your local Civil Liberties Union, don't wear fur, etc. to you brother.

Theological liberals do not have a commitment to anything larger than themselves, and their emotional desires of the moment. Not to the extent that they are willing to suffer at length for. They also exhibit an absolute refusal to accept ugly realities. When some one lies to themselves, why not lie to you? Their message cannot be taken at face value and therefore they have to disguise their real intentions.

There are many people who are of liberal mindset who may want to accomplish substantial good. They just may come at the problems of the world from a different perspective. But for the hard left the truth is what suits them now.

Liberals are shockingly self-deceived and hypocritical. I suggest everyone read the book, "DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO. PROFILES IN LIBERAL HYPROCRISY."

It's a fun, entertaining book, easy to read since it's broken into nice short chapters, each regarding a liberal hypocrite.

One bit of irony the book highlighted is that, when liberals act with hypocrisy, they are almost always rewarded by society for their bad behavior. But when conservatives act like hypocrites, they are severely chastised and things do not turn out well for them.

Funny, isn't it?

What liberals and conservatives (meaningless phrases) have in common is this: Instead of putting the wolf to sleep, they want to anesthetize the sheep.

Entering into debate over such made up terms means you are the sheep.

talk facts not slogans.

Same reason why Liberals insist on making the same generalizations over and over again.
