What an interesting obersvation, I love words and word games etc., I never thought about that, good question!

I do not think this is weird because the point of a lisp is when somebody constantly adds an s into whatever they are saying.
And, if there was no s, the word would be lip, and the two different meanings would get confused.

I think the word was started when someone tried to get someone with a lisp to say lips. Come on its hillarious!! Have you ever tried to get someone with a lisp to say lisp? Oh my God!! Its great!

no because it sounds funny when you say it do you have a lisp??? jk well i think its funny me and my friend say that all the time as if we really did have a lisp i like that word though its fun to say lisp lisp lisp peace out!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a lisp, i think it would be called irony...i could be wrong, but its cruel...and having a lisp makes it harder to pronounce ur name when it starts with an s

The reason it does, is because the word has the sound s in it! It is however ironic!
