They don't get dirt off your hands, but they kill germs. THey're meant for after washing and when you have no soap or water.

Yes. As a home support worker I carry a small bottle of it with me at all times. It kills 99.9 % of germs and usually contains a moisturizer as well. Too much washing in water will dry your hands and since I constantly need to handle food and/or clients then I use the sanitizers a lot. At home I still use good old soap and water though.

Hand sanitizers are primarily alcohol. Alcohol kills germs so you are basically spreading alcohol on your hands. If you are in a place where you can not wash your hands, sanitizers are great to have.
I have found that if I use it a lot, my hands dry out.

sanitizers kill germs and were meant for after hand washing or if you cannot get to wash your hands immediately. There is no substitute for good hand washing!

yes, most contain alcohol, which is an equivalent of dabbing a wound with a cotton ball of rubbing alchol. Why do you do this? to disinfect and kill the germs.

They don't CLEAN hands, but they kill 99.9% of germs. The dirt is still there. You'll see if you wash your hands after.
