People keep telling me to use LimeWire to download free music, but at the same time, I know its illegal, well at least for people who don't know about it, that's different, but I do.

limewire the program is not illegal at all. people have to upload their music to the program for you to download and that act is illegal. people use limewire because they don't want to pay for music and programs.

Limewire, like any of the file sharing programs is legal. However the copying of copyrighted materials currently is illegal. If you use it to copy music, you run the risk of being sued by the recording industry. So, your decision...

The software itself is not illegal. If you use it to copy pirated content, then you are doing something illegal. Limewire is just an enabler.
An example is a photocopy machine - photocopy machines are not illegal, but if you copy a whole book instead of buying one, then its illegal.
