Yeah, but it wasn't the pleasant tunnel of light with angels and stuff. I had food poisoning really bad. I knew I was dead, but not brain dead, because I was wide awake and could still think. But I had no sight, no sound, no feeling, no volition and no strong emotions. I was concerned that if this was death I didn't like it. I was concerned that I hadn't accomplished what I wanted to in life, especially raising my son. I was concerned about my son being in the room with my dead body and who would take care of him. I came to my senses (it wasn't like waking up...it was regaining my senses) with him crying over me telling me he thought I was dead. I started to get better after that. So, I am still deathly afraid of death.

Your research paper should include a reference to current experiments in which objects are placed out of view high above terminal care/emergency surgery patients (as these have reported out of body experiences looking down on the surgery team) The aim is to see whether such patients can then report on these objects or signs, which would be out of view for them from their bed position. So far, "hovering" out of body experiences have not resulted in accurate reports. Neuroscience believes the homing in on a white light, which feels pleasant, is the sensation caused by neurons, which finally all fire when deprived of oxygen for too long.

Yes. When walking to my bus when I was young, I stepped out onto the street. I had to cross that street, then across a small grassy median to my bus. Out of nowhere a car comes speeding down the street going about 75-85, swirving, and I froze. If my bus driver hadn't have screamed (it jolted me to my senses) I would have been killed. I made it out of the way. The teens in it were drunk.

I'm not kidding, this happened.

I tripped over my cat but as I was floating above my body she jumped up and pulled me back into it.

At my friend's wake (Traci), I stood right next to the coffin for a minute. It was really creepy.
