If you like country, go with a fender telecaster like this one:

It's a good "starter guitar" for under $400. Epiphone's are cheap Gibsons, made using inferior quality woods and hardware. Stay away from them and the Fender" Squire guitars if you can afford better.
If you like to rock, again, go with a brand name like Fender or Gibson, rather than the "economy" lines.
I own a '73 Telecaster and an SRV strat, and both play as well now as the day I bought them

Go for the fender. I own a fender Jimmie Vaughan Strat and it plays great. If your a beginner, I'd suggest getting a fender squire bullet. And if your experienced go for the Fender Standard Strat. If you wanna' sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan or Jimi Hendrix, go for the Fender
But, in the off chance that you buy a Epiphone, than you should get the Epiphone Les Paul. The Les Paul is great for distortion, but they aren't very good for blues.
P.S. Great Question (BUY THE FENDER)

Fenders are the standard. If you can, get a Stratocaster. Its great for rock or blues. I have one. The second choice would be a Telecaster, particularly if you play country. Epiphones are good but its not the same as a Fender (or Gibson).

I were given pregnant at 15 too. i understand you sense on my own, yet i'm right here to allow you to understand that you're not any more. I also replaced into on my own at 15. attempt this in the previous you do some thing else.Take a bathtub, sit down and relax, merely imagine, cry, giggle, although makes you fel better appropriate. and at the same time as your in there imagine of how this toddler can make you a better appropriate human being in the longer time period, yea your gonna have human beings make comments and be mad, yet Honey it is your determination. dont let all people make that selection for you. Then bypass out and confront your bro and be a grown up, after all you made the decision to have sex. provide your toddler a probability. I had a pal that hadan abortion and he or she has regretted it each because that. merely relax and picture to your self for a minute. reliable success W/ YOUR selection !!! one very last element I kept my daughter she is now 5 and that i'm so chuffed that i did, it really isn't any longer going to be straight forward, yet no longer some thing reliable is ever straight forward !!!! imagine about it....

Country boy, eh? Well, a Tele has the twang, but a strat is more versatile. A tele will get you that serious quack that Pete anderson has. A strat is just all around cool, but not as chicken fried as a tele. Starts will get you to a crap load of styles though.
If you wanted to do some rockabilly type stuff, you might opt for the 335 style, but it needs a bigsby. You'll get a more Briamn setzer tone with that thing.
