Working smarter quite often is as important as working harder. If you are self employed, working harder and smarter will reward you, however when you are working for an employer, you can quite often be taken advantage of by working too hard. Remember that employers, seem to expect more from people who really care, and sometimes will take advantage of them.

the best employees rarely get the recognition they deserve, yesterday, a Friend found out that his employer had been shorting his pay check by $1.00 per hour, for The time he worked there, which was only 3 mo. in that time he worked from 4am. til 8pm. 6 days a week in a body shop which paid him so many hour per job. they only credited him with the hours they charged the customer, so that alone cut his pay in half ,plus the $1 they shorted him. now why would someone do this to someone who worked his butt off for them? they don't care about the employee, only what is good for them, sad...

more responsibility, means more money, unfortunately, it also means more hardship. like the 1st answer. try to work smarter not harder. Preparing & planning always makes for less work with a better outcome.
