I totally can relate from where you are coming from. My ex and I were great friends before we started dating. I sometimes wish we had never got together. Talk to him and see if he feels the same way. You should be aware that some people will be negative about you wanting to be his friend. It is utimately your choice. You hae the right to choose who your friends are. If you and him had really bad problems and you shared that with some people. Those are the people that are going to make you feel bad and as if you should never talk to him. People are going to have negative thing to say, no matter what. Don't worry about that do what your heart feels and if you are making a mistake you have the right to figure that out on your own. Good Luck with everything!

I think you should tell him how you feel and maybe things can work out between both of you as friends. But Be really careful, and keep in mind that he is your ex boyfriend. I tried being friends with my ex boyfriend only because i still liked him. But now I know that ex boyfriends are in the trash, and whatever goes in the trash, stays in the trash ; D

If you are both matured and feel that a friendship may improve each other's life, then go ahead.
But first things first, you may both still have feelings for each other, so please understand that the "friendship" may lead somewhere again.
Good luck.
