What I am asking in short above is if the subset of Fundementalis Christians who judge, look down on, ostracize, and otherwise proclaim the unacceptable nature of others's law abiding behavior, sometimes calling that behavior an "abomination against God," are they themselves violating one of God's laws as spoken by Jesus of Nazareth when he prevented the imminent stoning of a "Sinner Woman" by speaking the words "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone?" I know fundementalists read the bible as the word of God exactly as God directed the hands of the men who wrote it to write it. They don't interpret it, but doesn't it seem that the quote in question means that "all of you mortal humans are sinners, whether your sins become public or are kept secret, you are all sinners and therefore you should not judge each other's sins?"
This is political as these very people invoke their absolute and certain "knowledge of God's will" to lobby for new laws & the overturn of others!

Since you do not follow, nor care to follow Christianity, How can you possibly understand why Christians do what they do?

We are OBLIGATED to help all people to be people of GOD. Telling someone that what they are doing is bad in God's eyes is not Judging them. The quote in which you throw out there is based on when they where stoning a woman to death for a sin. They where judging and executing someone for a sin.
Christians simply want all men women and children to be with God forever and will not hesitate to let you know that what you are doing is a sin to God. That is not being judgmental. That is being like Jesus and Loving!

The best answer I can come up with is that fundamentalist don't "judge" sinners when they lobby for new laws. Most fundamentalist honestly don't want to change a law to go after the "violators" of it. They wanted changes to effect the future generations. They want gay marriage banned not because they want to change the lifestyle of current gay/lesbian couples. They believe that changes laws to a more traditional will have be beneficial to future generations.

And some people are just fanatical and actually believe they have knowledge of God's will. But they're more in the minority of fundamentalist than many think from my experience.

Boy, do you (and, curiously, distinctive Christians) desire to study the scriptures. The worst sin of all is to sin adverse to the Holy Ghost. i don't understand all people in my opinion who has performed that. that's such an utter rejection of God that there isn't any reconciliation conceivable. Ever. that's the reason there is the form of element as Outer Darkness. next is homicide -- there isn't any forgiveness in this existence for homicide. Adolf Hitler isn't in Heaven. he continues to be procuring the thousands and thousands of murders he brought about -- except he replaced into so insane that he did not understand the evil of his intentions. Murderers could pay for his or her personal sins in penal complex until eventually the debt is paid and the subsequent "time of clean" comes round. The Lord did not go away David in hell perpetually, yet that does no longer recommend that David were given right into a similar Heaven that the historic apostles did. The bronze medal of sins, i think, is going to sexual sins of all varieties. i'm no longer the single to say that sins indulging similar-sex charm are worse than sins indulging opposite-sex charm. For one element, i'm no longer effective i ought to coach it.

I get the point you're trying to make, but I think you misunderstand a lot of Fundamentalists' intentions. It's not an attempt to personally judge others, but to point out to them how they are sinning against God and his word. Even when Jesus spoke of those without sin casting the first stone, he finally turned to Mary and said, "Your sins are forgiven. Go and sin no more." She was a sinner, as we all are. When people go astray, God wants us to reach out to them and show them the error of their ways so that they can ask forgiveness, repent and "sin no more." Because none of us is perfect, though, we can only try our best to avoid sin. God doesn't expect us to never sin again. His commandments are intended as a guide, to remind us of what's right and wrong, and to give us something to strive for. Jesus' love and death on the cross frees us from the bondage of sin, because even though we can't be perfect, we can receive forgiveness and "come clean."

If I were drowning, I would want someone to reach out to me and pull me to safety. It's the same with faith. If you truly believe that a fellow human being will suffer eternal damnation if they don't repent, wouldn't you want to reach out to them? Many see it as being judgemental, but I believe it's actually a sincere desire to want to see people change and not suffer the consequences of their own sinful lifestyle.

Hmmm, I notice that no Conservative Christians have answered your question. Big suprise, huh? They are so willing to criticize and condemn EVERYTHING that Liberals say, think, or feel about God or anything else for that matter, yet they can't answer one lousy question about THEIR interpretation of Jesus' teachings. Another big one is "Judge lest ye be judged." They kind of ignore that one too, don't you think? Actually, I think the Conservatives masquerading as Christians think it's quite fine to pick and choose what suits their own agenda from the Bible and ignore the rest, something a real Christian would never do. But that is only my personal opinion. Far be it for me to judge them, I'll leave that up to God.

That was a set up deal. The woman was "taken in the very act of adultery". So, where was Bubba. Jesus did not condemn the woman but He did say "Don't do it again." Also, the condemnation He spoke of was the legal one, under the Mosaic law. However, your main point of not judging is valid. I just think you picked the wrong example.

I'd say you are right. You're not attempting to pass judgement on them for being judgemental about the sins of others, are you? I hope not. If they are judging others then they are committing sin, which all of us humans are prone to do. I do think that one must identify safe people. whether others are adhering to safe behavior should be criteria governing how much time is spent with them.... Even that's judgemental in a way, but it doesn't have to be voiced.

... and what really annoys me, personally, is the blatant acceptance of the sin of greed by these very people that condemn others... they say "it's the American way" when it was one of Jesus' clearest points... many do more harm than good for the church

rap1361: saying someone is wrong and yelling "YOU WILL GO TO HELL YOU F*GS" are two totally different things... one is a discussion and the other is a blatant judgment..... but you don't clearly don't know the difference and are a cliche example of what we are discussing...
there is no love in judgement, there is love in discussion...

first off on the judging part have you notice that you and the rest are judging Christian but that is okay right ? . so we have no rights to lobby for laws , express scientfic beliefs in the healthy life styles ? also the rest of the scripture is

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measurement ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote (speck) that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and them shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5

so if I judge that muder is wrong and go around yelling screaming and getting my face plastered over tv saying. yet I go around mudering I will be Judged by God more harshly. on the other hand if i judge murder is wrong and do not then will not face any judgement on that issue. as a Christian need to judge things as sin or Holy so that my live my life pleasing God. always find it funny when people call people hypocrites for judging while they are judging themselfs.

Hell-fire Christians are not only hypocrites, but extremely dull by nature. They just aren't bright enough to recognize the obvious conflict their actions have with their beliefs. History illustrates this quite well.

I'm not talking about good Christian folk. They are not my enemies. It's just the Hell-fires that set me off.
