I saw both the original and the remake.
1. If Damien's mother was a jackal, don't you think Damien would have had more dog-like features? Like a snout or perhaps he'd be hairier or something?
2. The jackal is found in Asia and Africa. How did Damien's mother (a jackal) get to Italy?

1. He wasn't "conceived" of a jackal, he was born of a jackal. Besides, it's the supernatural. Anything goes.
2. Italy isn't that far from Asia, and who's to say that it wasn't imported?

Your right! Well this might seem silly, I am reading the book, and then seeing the new version of the movie... wierd... sort of unexplainable.
