hand held solitaire
shuffle a deck of cards real good. ..hold them in your left hand facing away from you(where you look at the back of the cards)
take your right hand and from the back of the deck, bring 4 cards to the top of the deck where you can see them...

you are basically playing or looking at 4 cards at all times
here is what you do now....
if the first 4 cards you turned up are j of spades k of diamonds
2 of hearts and 7 of spades , keep the Jack and the 7 of spades....take out the two middle cards(King and 2) and discard them in a pile...(.1st and 4th card should be the same suit.)
pull up from the back of the deck, 2 more cards...they will go on top of the jack and 7 you are holding.they become 3rd & 4th card
Now you see the jack of spades so the 4th card should be a spade, if not add a new card. Now you are trying to suit up with the 7 of spades(always playing with last 4 cards on top)
If you have a 7 of spades, a queen of clubs,10 of hearts, and a 7 of hearts....then you lay down all 4 cards in your pile, and pick up 4 more............the 1st and 4th card should be of the same suit in order to remove the 2nd and 3rd card..............Or while looking at your hand, your last 4 cards you are holding , say a 5 of H, 8 of D 3 of Clubs and a 5 of clubs(same number on each end of 4 cards) then all 4 go down It will change the cards in your hand .But just keep looking at the last 4....It is a fun game and it becomes addictive...

Canfield is one of my favorites...hard to beat, but challenging.

Number of Decks: 1

Alternate Names: Demon, Fascination, Thirteen

Initial Layout: Deal thirteen cards face-down into a pile called the reserve, then turn the top card face-up. Deal the next card face-up onto the first foundation. This forms the base (starting) card of each foundation. The deal four cards face-up in a row beneath the first foundation. These cards form the basis of the tableau. The remaining cards form the stock.

Object: The object of the game is to move the remaining three base cards, as they appear, to the foundations, and build each up in suit wrapping from king to ace as necessary.

Play: Turn cards from the stock three at a time, onto the wastepile. The top card of each tableau pile, the top card of the reserve, and the top card of the wastepile are available for play. Cards within the tableau may be built downward in sequence (wrapping from ace to king as neccesary) and alternating in color. Cards may be moved from tableau to tableau one at a time, or cards may be moved in blocks (the entire sequence must be moved as a unit). Spaces in the tableau are filled immediately from the reserve. If the reserve is empty, then spaces in the tableau may be filled from the waste. When the stock is empty, turn the wastepile over to form a new stock. This redealing may be repeated until the game is won (all foundations completed), or an impasse is reached.
