Jeff Gordon is having problems getting his car into the right shape. He eitiher breaks pistons and blows gaskets, or vital structural damage occurs. Without a decent racecar it dosent matter who is driving. Although I am not a fan, He is a good driver and it shows when his car is running well.

The better question is what is not wrong with Jeff Gordon. However, I will answer the posted question with reasons that I don't like Jeff Gordon. He complains way to much, example he has a bad day on the track and he blames someone for it. Instead of just saying today was not a good day for us. He finds someone to blame for it.
Look at what happend this past week at Michigan. Kasey Kahne had problems at the beginning of the race, but he came back from everything to win. Other drivers have had bad days at the track and don't blame people.

As far as ability to drive a race car Jeff Gordon is one of the best. My problem with him is when he does make a mistake--it is always someone else's fault. I swear he could be in clean air, running top speed, run over trash that just hit the track, blow a tire, tear that #24 all to pieces and it's his crew's fault.

First he went from being a member of the "rainbow worriors" to driving a flaming car...so his problem is pretty obviouse. The second reason is anyone.

The driver is a small portion to the equation. There are engine builders, tuners, chasis builders, body fabricators, tire changers, jackman, gasman, criew chief and many more people that are important to the team. Since he lost his crew chief to Dodge (look at Kasey winning) he has not been near as good.

I don't know but he is not himself now a days, I hear him whining all the time to his crew about the car and that is not like him. I am a gordon fan and just have no idea what is going on with him. I think he needs to get rid of the babe on his arm and consentrate on racing.Plus the changes in his crew have taken a toll too, they aren't jelling like they used to. I hope they get things worked out, before he becomes a "used to be"

He's a cry baby who thinks the world owes him because he's a past champion. He's in Dale Sr. shadow and will never be as liked as Sr. and is mad about it. I would like to see him retire instead of pushing Matt Kenseth around. Matt could whip him.

who says there is anything wrong with him

maybe it is the team that isn't gelling the way it should

Hendrick should follow the lead Rousch set and shuffle the 24 and 25 teams around and see what happens

who knows. it couldn't get much worse that it already is for both teams

my personal opinion?? his crew chief. he keeps going to bat for the guy.. but i can't blame it on the home garage, b/c the 48, 5, &25 aren't seeming to have the same mechanical problems he is..
the problems for him seem to be coming after pit stops and after changes are made. i think letarte is making bad calls in the pits..
