My friend is recommending this book to me. Besides all her positive remarks, I would like to know other aspects to it.

I would say that each one is a unque experience..I am a long time GWTW fan...became one because I saw the movie at age 12 (35 now) and had never seen anything like it before.. it is an amazing story brought to life by amazing actors, directors, producer etc..like you just don't see today..which would not exist without the book, which I am sure people want to debate is not "fine literature"..but having read it about 50 times, I say, who cares ? It has a little of everything, romance, history, drama... Isay read the book AND see the movie.. you won't regret it!

It is a good story. The plot is long and drawn out but not overly complicated. It is a romance for people who enjoy romances. It is also historically accurate when mentioning real places and events and people. The movie is close to the book as is physically possible. You'll probably read it in high school if you're in any kind of advanced or college-bound english classes.

The book "Gone With the Wind" is very educational and interesting but the movie is one of my favorite. I always loved to watch them over and over again. I liked Scarlett O'Harra played by Vivien Leigh and I considered her one of the best actress of all time. She sure played her rule very well in this movie.

I really enjoyed the book, much more than the movie. It has been a number of years since I read it, but I remember it fondly and would even consider re-reading it.
