These are tournament rules. "Bar rules" for 8 ball vary a lot from place to place, and rarely are the same as the official tournament rules, which are much more particular about fouls.

Try this...these are the APA (American Pool Player's Association) rules. This is the most common governing body in the US, at least to my knowledge.
