The first thing I ask when someone has a cold or runny nose is "What's your dairy intake?" How much milk, yogurt, ice cream, cheese, cream based soups, etc. are you eating? How much red meat are you eating? The point is to find the source of all the mucus. You can try some herbs for relief of symptoms but a better question might be "What makes your cold so stubborn?" You might need a good colonic and some pau d'arco to build up your immune system. Also, try scrubbing your environment down with some antibacterial cleaner (not bleach) and burning some cayenne powder or oil, just in case it is something in your environment. It could be something as simple as a germ-y phone or keyboard that you are using that is making you sick. Bottom line, find the source, don't just chase symptoms.

Best thing for colds is a good cup of echincea tea. It can be found in any drug store and costs about 5 dollars for a 20 pack of tea. Drink one to two cups a day depending on how bad you feel. Do not drink it with sugar because refined sugar isnt all that great for you, but instead put some honey in it if you wish it to be sweeter. Echincea is excellent for strenghtening your imune system any time, but because of this it works wonders on colds. If this does not work, try a nice cup of elderberry tea, which might be harder to find. Remember when buying herbal teas, make sure that they are actually made with the herb, and not black tea with a flavor.

Another thing you can do is use more garlic in your food, becasue that too is good for colds.

It might not be a cold. You may have allergies that affect the nasal passages and sinuses. It could also be a sinus infection. I'd go to a doctor to have it checked. If it's allergies, Benadryl can really help, but it does make people tired. Claritin, Reactin and Aerius are good non-drowsy pills. If it's a sinus infection, you'll need antibiotics to clear it up. A good nose spray like Nasonex (prescription) will help with either case.
