If it werent for Global warming we'd be in the ice age. So why does Al Gore think we can control it?

actually, because of Global Warming, we would be in the ice age. The increase in temperature causes a higher density of water vapor in the air, as a result the net temperature on the surface of the earth drops, and we get lots and lots of percipitation. The Earth is making drastic attempts to shift it's self to remedy this. Al Gore thinks we can control it because WE caused it, and so it would stand to reason that we fix it.

You are mixing up global warming with the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is a natural process without which our planet could not sustain human life. When people use the phrase "global warming" they are talking about the human contribution to the greenhouse effect, or an enhancement of the natural process.

So, Al Gore believes global warming, the human contribution to the greenhouse effect, is what we can control.

Both global warming and global dimming are caused by pollution/ pollutants.

Either way our current envrionment is not safe. A 5 degree shift in any direction and man kind will end. Currently the projections are for a 2 degree drift brought on by dimming, and a 3 degree drift for warming.

All Al wants is to draw attention to the fact that our kids, and grand kids are hosed.

Global warming refers to the increment of the average temperature of the atmosphere and oceans, and generally include human influence; such as releasing CO2 and other greenhouse gases by burning fuels, destroying forest, farming and other human activities.

Al Gore think we can control it because he think human influence plays a significant role in global warming. Thus if we can control the release of greenhouse gases, we can control global warming.
