A real answer:
It depends what you really want to do, Mac's have some cool things and so does windows. If you really feel brazzen you can download the dev package of Mac OS to work on X86 platform hardware (you have to have a certain chipset processor ect!) A adavantage to windows is one its low cost and any hardware can be used. A advantage to mac is that its glossy and is bassed on BSD (not linux) UNIX, linux is bassed on MINNIM (a type of UNIX). I mean if you want you can load Windows XP onto a mac in native mode and it will work (dual-boot) you can not however load MAC OSX (retail) onto a pc (it wont work). There is a timming device in the MAC hardware that prevents this and the setup will check to see if you have this. If you want to play games then windows (PC hardware is generally less expensive then mac) however MAC gets better performace out of less spec hardware for example Power PC's are pretty good processors and can compete well with anything from Intel or AMD. However, there are serious disadavtages as well. Cost is the main one an apple imac can be as expensive as 2,000$ (Gmac can be even more).
But one poster is right if you are experienced with windows then stick to windows. No OS is inferiror to others there are just different uses for each one. I run a Windows/Linux/Unix Envriroment and i really think its a prefrence of how much time do you want to invest into a platform that you have not used.

I would go with windows: 1 and only 1 reason : Good user friendly interface
Mac runs on the basic Linux technology - useless interfact.
However, if you are looking for graphics creation, then mac is the way to go.
Windows leads the way in terms of user interface. Windows is made for the simple minded. and that is what all humans are. No one wants to waste 15 - 20 minutes just figuring out where the 'close' button on the window is !!!! (it happened to me when i worked on a mac, no one to blame, i'm used to windows)

There are several benefits for each kind of computer but a majority of businesses, schools, and computer users buy Windows for their bigger advantage.
Though Apples are somewhat "virus-immuned", and have excellent programs for graphics and design, Windows offers a wider selection for applications, software, and have a faster system performance.

I've always used Windows, but I would encourage you to check out Apple definitely.
Lots of I-life stuff, very easy to use, almost no viruses (compared to thousands out there infecting Win based PCs).
People who do use Apple computers think the world of them usually.

Apples are good to eat, Windows provide fresh air. I chose RedHat as my OS, but if I have to chose Windows or Apple, I chose windows for personal machines that are used by PC savy people, and Apple for computers that are used by dimwits. Apple's do not have as many viruses, windos needs someone to be carefull.

I would go with mac os (apple). This operating system(os) has a lesser chance for viruses and is generally easier to use with fewer bugs, if any, in the system.
They have also released a new program called "bootcamp" that allows you to run windows on a Mac(apple).
