Most fourth through sixth grade kids like rap music.Is it the most popular among kids?

The majority of kids around where I live like punk/rock/screamo. The other kids like rap though.
And for the guy above me....LOVE! I'm absolutely in love with underoath. I frickin love them!! I got the new cd already...I downloaded that jaunt. I couldn't wait to buy it.

Rap is the tightest, illest, coolest genre out there! Rap is not crap! That's an ignorant comment in my opinion because each genre of music has it's vices. There are people who say that rap degrades women, but there are women who sing pop who degrade themselves by wearing skimpy clothing. It all depends on your point of view. I enjoy all types of music, it's just the different songs that I pick and choose from. There is good rap out there that teaches and encourages but people just always look at the negatives in things.

Rap is the most vile, annoying, and disgusting noise ever. It doesn't fit in the same category as music. Anyone who says rap is music needs to get a brain stem. Rap sucks!

It's a mix really, the most popular music genre's are Rap, Pop, Hip hop, and rock.

I'd say no. Kids generally enjoy whatever's on the pop lists. Rap is quite popular, but parent's don't generally allow their kids to listen to it due to the foul language that is often used.

most kids like rap because of the lyrics and beat but a lot of adults because either they r saying something wrong in the song or either the song is just going to fast 4 them. As most adults say don't listen to that "RAP KRAP!!!"

well i like rap, i like pretty much everthing from rap 2 rock 2 some(very little) country. I think it's kinda sad though for kids that young listening to that though cause rap is so perverted sometimes.

Yea because most rappers rap about stuff that go on in their life or already happened and some teens like us can relate to it and understand because they've been through it before

Depends on the area. In non-urban areas the "emo" music is so in, such as Panic!, Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance, etc.
In my area rap is very popular. I don't like it, personally.

It is, shame though. It's the worst genre. When I told my aunt I hated rap, she said "I've never met a teenager who listens to rock! Everyone listens to horrible rap!" It was quite funny actually!
