I think it's funny.

Why don't the stupid kids just put their phones on vibrate?

It is true. They had a story on it on the news last night. It said that the ringtone is so high pitched that only a young person can hear it. They say as a person gets older then their hearing goes away and so the teachers that are older cannot hear the ringtone and more students are starting to cheat by using this one certain ringtone.

True. As the average person matures, high pitches are the first to go. I noticed at my job as a customer service rep that very old people who are losing their hearing like to talk to me. One day a nice old man explained to me that the young girls with high-pitched voices just tend to sound like so much yapping and the louder they talk the worse it is. He said my voice was like music to him because it's very low and I don't have to talk loudly for him to hear me well.

There are exceptions, however. Even at age 50 (and I've always listened to my music LOUD!), I seem to be able to hear high pitches that most people can't.

I am going to have to listen to the ringtone to tell. I am a teacher at a small rural school. Cell Phones are driving us nuts! Kids hide them in their pockets and put them on vibrate( They are not allowed to have them on their person) When a teacher calls them on it, they clain their parents tell them to keep it on so they can get in touch w/ them. Sometimes they claim its b/c of 9/11--now THAT'S BS!! I tell them their parents can call the office, same way mine had to when I was in school

Actually, it is not crap. But your opinion is what guides your decisions, I imagine. Good luck hearing well in about 10 years.

I looked it up and tried it. I could barely hear it, my mom and dad couldn't, and my 13 year old cousin could hear it fine. Its very high pitched and that is whats usually lost the older you get: the ability to recognized high pitched noises

Oh, and my cat loved it.

Has some scientific basis. As you age your ears become less adapt at hearing the kind of tone.

I watched both videos and read the article. Looks real enough to me.
