black monday was referred to a day in 2004 when on a monday, the indian stock market crashed heavily, due to which it had to take an unusual break. The same followed in 2006 on a monday, and later thursday and friday. This time it was called black week instead of black monday.
In short, a great fall due to which investors lose money!

now such a big drop of of market in one day is in check by using "curbs in" so it would take say 2-3 days for such big drop

my investments professor was working that day and he claimed it was madness. after awhile, the stop-loss triggers were on autopilot, and there was nothing people could really do besides watch.
