I want to record something and I have a satelite dish. When i record something and play it back there is no picture or sound however, in the time where there should be something, there is a black, silent screen. The VCR is plugged into the TV and I want to record the image from the TV but I can't for some reason. Anyone know why? and is it the tracking channels or the connection itself that is causing the problem.

The satellite plug has to be inserted into the cable/antenna plug on the vcr, then the vcr has to be plugged into the tv.
Most vcr's say in from antenna...out to tv.
the in from antenna would be the plug from your satellite receiver
also, your vcr and television have to be set to the same channel...usually channel 3.
